FAQ
Common questions
Will I lose my Google rankings if I move my website?
Not if it’s done carefully. I keep the pages that already bring in visitors and point every old address to its new page, so Google carries your spot over. I also let Google know about the new site directly.
Can you move a website from Wix?
Yes. Wix doesn’t let you export the site itself, so I rebuild it page by page with your text and photos, then point your domain to the new site. It usually takes about a week.
What about Squarespace or GoDaddy?
Same approach: I copy your content into a new, faster site, point the old addresses to the new pages, and move the domain into your name if it isn’t already.
Will my email stop working?
No. Email runs on separate records from your website. I copy them before anything changes and check that mail still arrives after the switch.
When do I cancel my old plan?
Only after the new site is live and you’ve looked it over. I’ll tell you when it’s safe.
Do I own the new site?
Yes. Your domain is in your name and your site is yours. If you ever leave, you get your files and a free handoff.
