Free tool

Free website checker.

Type your website address and get a report card on how it does on a phone: speed test, heavy photos, a secure (https) address, and when your domain name is up for renewal. It’s free and takes about a minute.

Free, no sign-up, and nothing you type is saved.

This tool needs JavaScript. You can also ask for a free website check and I’ll look at it myself.

What it checks

Four things that quietly cost you customers

Most people find a local business on their phone. These are the problems I see most often when a site loses them.

Speed on a phone

The same mobile speed test Google runs (PageSpeed Insights), with a score from 0 to 100 and how long your page takes to show up. If it takes too long, people tap back and call the next business.

Photos that are too heavy

Big photos are the most common reason a small business site is slow. The report shows how much smaller your images could be without looking any different.

A secure address (https)

Browsers mark sites without https as “Not secure,” which scares people off contact forms. The report tells you whether your site uses it.

Your domain renewal date

If your domain name expires, your website and email stop working. The report shows the renewal date from the public domain registry so it doesn’t sneak up on you.

FAQ

Website checker questions

Is this website checker really free?

Yes. There’s no sign-up and nothing to buy. Nothing you type is saved.

How long does the check take?

Usually 20 to 60 seconds. Google loads your site on a simulated phone, which takes a moment.

What’s a good speed score?

Google counts 90 to 100 as good, 50 to 89 as needing improvement, and under 50 as poor. Scores can move a few points between tests, so run it twice if you’re close to a line.

Why is my score lower on a phone than on my computer?

The test uses a mid-range phone on a slower mobile connection on purpose, because that’s how a lot of your customers see your site.

My report has red marks. Now what?

Each item links to a plain-English explanation. If you’d rather have someone look at it, ask for a free website check and I’ll go through your site myself and tell you what’s worth fixing.
